Notes:
Residential conveyancing
Our rates for residential conveyancing are set at our hourly rate of £270 per hour, plus administration charges which vary dependent on service, but usually equate to £30 per telegraphic transfer/electronic funds transfer. VAT attaches to all our fees and charges. Disbursements (monies paid on your behalf, such as search fees) are charged separately and are required in advance of our spending them.
A simple conveyancing matter, such as a straightforward freehold purchase, would be likely to cost in the region of £850.00 plus charges, VAT and disbursements.
For more complex matters, for example, new-build purchases, tenancies or large estates, our hourly rates will apply and we will discuss charges at the time of instruction or when we have full property information, if later. If the estimated costs are likely to be exceeded we will let you know at the time and seek to agree any further costs which may be payable.
Debt Recovery
We charge for debt recovery at our standard hourly rates plus VAT, administration charges and disbursements. We do not have a set fee and we are happy to discuss charges at the time of instruction. However, a letter before action in a simple uncontested claim is likely to cost in the region of £150 plus VAT, including the initial consultation. A simple application to court following that initial letter is likely to cost in the region of one hours’ time plus VAT and the court fee. If the matter is contested, hourly rates apply for preparation of case, court hearings and the like. Travel costs are charged extra, as is waiting time.
